Not beginning the Resume with a powerful punch; instead, beginning with an outdated and noneffective Resume Objective
So, to pick up where we left off on nursing resumes, let us discuss the next very common mistake which is...using an old and non-marketing opening to head off the resume. Often, I find careerist have a very difficult time parting with the idea of listing an Objective as they have become so accustomed to including it. Yet know that focusing on developing a captivating and powerful Summary of Qualifications or Profile will better enhance your opportunity to interview for a higher paying nursing job.
For example, understand that when you write something as traditional as this...
Objective
To join a health care team and contribute my skills in nursing to a professional institution
The following occurs:
1. The above offers nothing interesting to your new employer, so it is not strong.
2. Everyone has written the same thing.
3. It is not employer oriented and so will not capture interest.
